The “Taste of the Network” will provide an opportunity for network members and friends to come together to enjoy culinary tidbits created by the dining service departments of several Network in Aging member agencies.
Participating groups include Absolut Care, Amherst Center for Senior Services, Bristol Village, Brookdale Senior Living, Eden Heights, Elderwood, Heathwood Assisted Living, Meals on Wheels for WNY, Montabaur Heights (Brothers of Mercy), Peregrine Senior Living at Cheektowaga,
Peregrine Senior Living at Orchard Park and Wheatfield Commons.
The “Jerry Flaschner Humanitarian Spirit Award” was established in 2006 in honor of the late Jerry Flaschner and is designed to recognize an individual who has demonstrated the same concern for elders in the Western New York Community as exemplified by Jerry and his “no problem” attitude. Jerry was a member of the Network in Aging board of directors, the publisher of “Living Prime Time” and an active volunteer for many important causes. The nominee should share Jerry’s belief that “The Best is yet to Come,” and translate that belief into action. The award is a $1000 scholarship to be used towards education and is presented during the “Taste of the Network” event.
The cost of the event is $15.00. For more information on the event or joining the Network in Aging, contact Lisa Boron at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 716-829-3712.
“The Taste of the Network is a fun-filled event we look forward to holding every year,” said Kristin Surdej, current Network in Aging President. “Member agencies get to show off their culinary delicacies and we are able to honor past member Jerry and provide resources to further one lucky individuals education dreams.”
